Fix a Leak Week at GSI Teaches Employees to Check, Twist and Replace

Karie Hendren, Front Desk Extraordinaire, was thrilled to receive a FREE kit during Fix a Leak Week.

GSI employees look to save thousands of gallons of water! They received a free “Fix a Leak Week” toolkit to identify if water is being wasted at their home, along with tools to get them started on repairs.

If you don’t have tools, another way to monitor for leaks is to take a look at your water usage during a colder month, such as January or February. If a family of four exceeds 12,000 gallons per month, there are serious leaks.

The Fix a Leak Week campaign, which ran March 18- 24, 2019, is promoted through the Environmental Protection Agency. The EPA reports the common types of leaks found in the home are worn toilet flappers, dripping faucets, and other leaking valves.

The City of Fort Collins supports the campaign through local efforts such as the free toolkits and providing resources for providing resources for fixing leaks. Here at GSI, we are always looking for ways to empower our team to conserve natural resources both at home and at work. So this year, GSI partnered with the City of Fort Collins to provide these cute, free toolkits for our employees.
