How to Recycle Holiday Waste in Larimer County and Weld County
As the holiday season falls upon us, we want to help our Northern Colorado community understand the best ways to manage their abundance of waste. From trees to broken lights and turkey grease, we have researched local options to help you rid yourself of the clutter.
CHRISTMAS TREE RECYCLING OPTIONS:
+++PLEASE NOTE THERE ARE CHANGES TO TREE RECYCLING DROP-OFF SITES THIS 2020 HOLIDAY SEASON+++
- Fees may apply.
- Some locations have discontinued drop-off access in 2020.
- If your community is not on the list, you can still use any Larimer County site.
- Before dropping off your tree to be recycled, all items must be removed including lights, wires, hooks, ornaments, tinsel, and fake snow.
PICK-UP SERVICE:
GSI customers can request a special curbside pick-up of your christmas tree or other bulky items, like furniture, by calling in advance. Your route driver will pick it up and take it to the landfill. Email us at custserv@gsiwaste.com or call 970-484-5556.
LARIMER COUNTY CHRISTMAS TREE DROP OFF LOCATIONS:

- Centennial Park, 977 W 1st St. (in the parking lot north of First Street, west of Swift Field).
- Kroh Park, 5200 N Garfield Ave. (adjacent to the Habitat for Humanity location).
- Loveland Recycling Center, 400 N. Wilson Ave. (off First Street & Wilson Avenue).
WINDSOR: Dec. 26 through Jan. 24 (970-674-2440) The drop off area will be well marked. (FREE DROP-OFF)
**In February the Annual Windsor Fort Building Event will be held at Eastman Park. (970-674-3510)
BERTHOUD: Dec. 28 through Jan. 9 (970-532-4256) (FREE DROP-OFF FOR BERTHOUD RESIDENTS)

ODDS & ENDS HOLIDAY RECYCLING:
- CHRISTMAS LIGHTS or Metal Christmas Stands/Random Metal can be recycled with any metal recycling such as Aragon’s, Colorado Iron and Metal, and Anderson’s Metal, the City of Loveland or Timberline Recycling Center for a small fee.
- COOKING OIL: Can be taken to the City of Loveland, Timberline Recycling Center, and Larimer County Household Hazardous Waste Facility for a small fee.
- ELECTRONICS: Can be picked up by GSI by making special arrangements OR can be dropped off at the City of Loveland, The Larimer County Recycle Center, or the Timberline Recycling Center for a small fee.
- BATTERIES: Can be taken to the City of Loveland Recycle Center, Larimer County Hazardous Waste, Timberline Recycling Center, Weld County Hazardous Waste.
- BULK CARDBOARD BOXES: City of Loveland Recycle Center, Larimer County Recycle Center, or the Timberline Recycling Center
